National University of Science and Technology “MISIS” would like to announce that starting from 2010 all MISIS graduates will be issued with Diploma Supplements. The Dilpoma Supplement is provided in accordance with the requirements of European Commission, Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES.
The purpose of the Supplement is to provide sufficient independent data to improve the international “transparency” and fair academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates, etc.). It is designed to provide a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were pursued and successfully completed by the individual named on the original qualification to which this supplement is appended. It should be free from any value-judgements, equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition. Information in all eight sections should be provided. Where information is not provided an explanation should give the reason why In accordance with Bologna Declaration, the Berlin Communiqué of Ministers responsible for Higher Education, September 2003 (Bologna Process) and letter of Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation from 23rd of March 2006 # 03-336 (About issue of Diploma supplement) every student of National University of Science and Technology “MISiS” graduating from 2010 should receive the Diploma Supplement automatically and free of charge. The diploma supplement should be issued in a widely spoken European language.

The Diploma Supplement (DS) is a document attached to a higher education diploma aiming at improving international ‘transparency’ and at facilitating the academic and professional recognition of qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certificates etc.). It is designed to provide a description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies that were successfully completed by the individual named on the original qualification to which this supplement is appended. It should be free from any value-judgements, equivalence statements or suggestions about recognition. It is a flexible non-prescriptive tool which is designed to save time, money and workload. The MISIS Diploma Supplement
- Normally comprises one double –sided sheet of A3 paper and 1 additional double-sided of A4 paper. All pages of the Diploma Supplement are security printed. In some circumstances, the transcript information may continue onto an additional page of A4 paper
- Students graduating from 2010 on wards are issued with their Diploma Supplement at the same time as they receive their Degree Certificate (normally at a Graduation Ceremony held at the University)
- Students graduating in 2005 are able to obtain a Diploma Supplement on request.
- Diploma supplements are not available for students graduating before 2005.
- Information on obtaining duplicate copies of Diploma Supplements is available at : http://www.misis.ru/

The MISIS DS is composed of eight sections (information identifying the holder of the qualification, information identifying the qualification, information on the level of the qualification, information on the contents and results gained, information on the function of the qualification, additional information, certification of the Supplement, information on the national higher education system). Information in all eight sections should be provided.
Where information is not provided, an explanation should give the reason why.
